The Carrollwood Subdivision of 925-homes ( now commonly referred to as the Original Carrollwood Community ), is an Independent Special District enacted by the Florida Legislature and approved by referendum on December 5, 1972, and named the Carrollwood Recreation District.
A non-ad valorem recreation district tax of $800.00 titled ( Carrollwood Recreation ISD ) is assessed annually against each residential parcel by the Hillsborough County Tax Collector on the property tax bill.
The recreation district tax is then returned to the Carrollwood Recreation District Board of Trustees to transact the business of the District in accordance with the Laws of Florida that govern it.
